Log Storage

Logs need to be stored in a certain way so that they are ready to use when needed. When stacked, the logs should be placed on a level surface and securely fastened together. The most common method of fastening logs together is with metal rods or wires. Once the logs are fastened together, they should be covered with a tarp or other waterproof material to protect them from the elements. If the logs are not properly protected, they can become dried out and cracked, which will make them less effective when used for fuel. In addition, logs that are not properly stored can become infested with insects or animals. Therefore, it is important to take care of your log storage so that your logs will be ready to use when you need them.
